Microsoft has teamed up with code.org to get more kids learning coding through the use of popular video games. I've recently blogged about code.org's efforts to make computer-science education available to more children, with a goal of boosting participation in the field by women and students of color. Through the creative use of entertainment including games from the movie "Frozen", it's teaching kids critical skills like developing "if then" statements, which are instrumental in becoming a competent coder. It's nice to see Microsoft realize we have to reach kids at an earlier age to get them excited about computers, programming and the bright job future in this industry.
